West Columbia Man Arrested for Drug Trafficking and Distribution

Drug Raid Yields High Quantities of Cocaine and Fentanyl

West Columbia – A local resident faces multiple charges following a drug raid in West Columbia, South Carolina. The accused, Shawn Lashiek Thompson, is charged with two counts of manufacture and distribution of cocaine base, along with charges for trafficking cocaine base and fentanyl, according to arrest warrants.

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department reported that deputies executed a search warrant at Thompson’s residence, due to an outstanding arrest warrant associated with the distribution of cocaine.

Incriminating Evidence Found

“Inside Thompson’s residence, agents discovered disconcerting quantities of illicit substances and related paraphernalia,” disclosed a leading figure in the operation. The drug haul consisted of 56 grams of pills containing fentanyl, 37 grams of cocaine base, four grams of cocaine and materials used for the manufacturing of cocaine.

Arrest and Detainment

The West Columbia man was taken into custody on June 26 at his Allendale Drive residence and is currently held in the Lexington County Detention Center.

The vigilant effort from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is part of an ongoing effort in the community to combat the drug menace. Confidential sources have hinted at an intensified effort in the coming months, aimed towards disrupting the local drug trade.

In related news, an ongoing search is underway for an individual last seen at the Sumter Mall, believed to be involved in drug-related activities. Additionally, law enforcement agencies have reported an increase in fatal shootings and drug-related violence across Lexington and surrounding areas, as they grapple to stabilize the critical situation.
