Exciting news for food lovers in Lexington! A brand-new upscale steakhouse is on the way, bringing a fresh dining experience to one of the busiest spots in town. The project is spearheaded by a trio of entrepreneur restaurateurs who are well-known in the Midlands food scene: Steve Cook, Joe Walker III, and Ryan Jones. They have chosen the prime location at 101 W. Main St., the space that used to be home to Alodia’s Cucina Italiana, which closed its doors back in April.
The steakhouse, whose name is still under wraps, is on track to open its doors come January. Right now, construction is already buzzing with activity as Boyer Construction leads the renovations. The vision? To combine a modern flair with the classic steakhouse feel. As Cook explains, “Our vision is to create a modern take on the classic steakhouse — upscale yet approachable.” The goal is to ensure that every guest feels welcome and relaxed as soon as they step through the door.
The carefully curated menu promises to include a variety of tantalizing options like hand-cut steaks, delicious homemade pasta, fresh seafood, and a selection of seasonal dishes that will surely cater to a range of tastes.
Each member of this culinary trio brings a unique set of experiences to the table. Steve Cook is already a celebrated name in the Midlands restaurant scene, running popular spots such as Saluda’s in Five Points, Arroyo Mexican in Harden Street, and Il Bucato pizzeria on North Beltline Blvd. Joe Walker III comes with a background in franchise operations, having owned places like Scooter’s Coffee and Marco’s Pizza. Last but not least, Ryan Jones has a wealth of experience as a former general manager at Hall’s Chophouse in Columbia. This blend of backgrounds means diners can expect great things!
Downtown Lexington has been thriving and evolving into a sought-after spot for dining, shopping, and entertainment. Alongside the upcoming steakhouse, you’ll find an array of beloved eateries such as O’Hara’s Public House, Keg Cowboy, and Bodhi Thai Dining. There are also charming shops like Craig Reagin Clothiers and The Kindred Boutique dotted around the area. Plus, the Icehouse Amphitheater, located just behind the new steakhouse, is a hotspot for live events and entertainment. The vibrant atmosphere ensures that this neighborhood is always buzzing with activity.
As Walker notes, the steakhouse aims to be a perfect fit within this busy corridor. “We’ve crafted a restaurant concept that’s truly one-of-a-kind, and we’re beyond excited to bring it to Lexington,” he states. They envision a space that honors the beautiful architecture of the building while elevating the dining experience to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Their hope is to be a gathering place for friends and families to celebrate life’s special occasions and create new memories.
With construction already in motion and a fantastic team at the helm, this upscale steakhouse is sure to add a delightful new chapter to Lexington’s culinary scene. As January approaches, residents can look forward to savoring delicious meals in a beautifully designed environment right in the heart of downtown. Keep an eye out, as this is one dining destination you won’t want to miss!
