Friday, April 12
Midlands Plant & Flower Sale
Spring has arrived and it is time to rejuvenate your garden. The SC State Farmers Market in West Columbia is hosting the Midlands Plant & Flower Sale where gardening enthusiasts can buy vibrant spring plants, flowers, equipment, décor, and seasonal produce. The event is free to attend and will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Thrilling music lovers, a number of concerts are scheduled for the day. Nu Blu, the popular North Carolina bluegrass country band, is set to liven up Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin’ Parlor with their unique blend of traditional and contemporary music at 8 p.m.
Chayz Lounge is hosting a soulful night with vocal artist Beth Inabinett and her band For The Funk Of It. Expect a night filled with classic and contemporary Neo Soul hits. The concert starts at 8 p.m.
Starting at 7 p.m, Knights Of Flannel, a group of seasoned musicians, will perform best rock and roll music numbers from various eras at Savage Craft Ale Works.
Saturday, April 13
Clinton Sease Farm is having a Strawberry Pick & Play event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The ticket includes a wagon ride to the strawberry patch, an interaction with farm animals, access to playgrounds, obstacle courses, a jellybean maze, a strawberry activity pack, and an opportunity to pick strawberries.
At the Harbison Theatre, acclaimed violinist Regina Carter will be performing at 7:30 p.m. praised as the finest jazz violinist of her generation by the New York Times.
Tuesday, April 16
Lexington County Main Library is hosting an informative lecture series called “Historically Speaking” at 6:30 p.m. presented by the Lexington County Museum, providing valuable insights into various aspects of Lexington County history.
Thursday, April 18
The Icehouse Amphitheater hosts its Icehouse Live concert series featuring Under The Sun, who will be performing a wide range of hits from the 90’s, 00’s and today. The band starts playing at 6:30 p.m.
Treat your taste buds at Hen’s Night Out in The FARM 1780 where you can indulge in delectable wine, cheese and farm-fresh sides from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Governor’s Cup Main Street Mile Run
On Friday, April 12, make sure to be at Main St. in Columbia for the Governor’s Cup Main Street Mile Run. This event has been providing an outstanding platform for South Carolina’s top distance runners since 1973. The registration fee prior to the event is $20, while on the day of the race, it is $25.
The Movie Game
The Newberry Community Players are presenting “The Movie Game” at The Ritz Theatre on Friday, April 12. The ticket costs $15.
