The event began on Thursday, April 4 at Steel Hands Brewery with an evening dedicated to the mesmerizing tunes of the Celtic Conundrum. Music continued to resonate in Cayce as a Celtic concert took place at the Icehouse Amphitheater at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 5. The concert starred Eireann’s Call, Tuatha Dea, and SYR, introducing the crowd to the iconic melodies of these renowned Irish bands.
Highland Games & Celtic Festival: A Day of Tradition and Merriment
On Saturday, April 6, the Historic Columbia Speedway turned into a hub of festive activity with the Highland Games & Celtic Festival. Starting at 9 a.m., attendees had the chance to witness highland athletics, traditional dancing exhibitions, and Celtic music. The mid-day parade filled the air with the sounds of Irish bagpipes, leading various proud clans towards the field.
In true homage to the Celtic culture, the day included sheep and duck dog herding demonstrations and birds of prey exhibitions. An array of British classic cars on display offered a nostalgic glimpse into Britain’s past. Attendees also had the chance to explore a Celtic marketplace filled with unique finds, kiddie rides, Scottish military history presentations, and an engaging blacksmith demonstration. Adding to the ambiance was the colonial village and a diverse assortment of vendors.
