Columbia Offers a Full Calendar of Summer Events
The city of Columbia, S.C., beckons locals and visitors alike with a buzzing calendar of summer events. From art exhibitions to sports camps, city and charity events to impressive fundraisers, Columbia has something for everyone.
Art and Culture in the City
The art community in Columbia is flourishing with numerous exciting events. Alexandra’s Art Studio is offering a variety of classes for adults and children, as well as hosting art class groups. The Columbia SC Visitors Center has teamed up with One Columbia for Arts and Culture to present artist popups over weekends until July 28.
Additionally, Shandon United Methodist Church will display a collection of oil paintings by Ashley (Stone) Ozmint from June 3 to August 30.
Awareness and Charity in the City
The City of Columbia Office of Violent Crime Prevention will observe National Gun Violence Awareness Month with a Garden Rededication at Pacific Park on June 20. Several churches are also organizing noteworthy events such as Vacation Bible Schools, Consecration & Convocation Services, and a Flag Retirement Ceremony and Picnic.
Sports and Outdoor Activities
Those looking for an adrenaline rush have plenty to choose from. Greenview Park, Martin Luther King Jr. Park (for Sports Camps), Woodland Park, Hyatt Park, Heathwood Park, and Sims Park are set to host weekly summer camps for children ages five to 12 from June 10 to August 2.
Moreover, the American Pickleball Tour (APT) is returning to the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in July, and the 19th Annual Weekend With The Pros is returning to Lake Murray.
Music and Performing Arts
A classical piano concert featuring Pianist Matthew Ganong will entertain music lovers this summer. The Nick will also be hosting the Kids Summer Movies series starting June 11.

A Feast of Fundraisers
The Exclusive Car, Truck and Jeep Show, set to benefit Project Unity USA, will take place on June 15 at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds. Other initiatives like Dress to Impress! aim to help students start the new school year in style.
