Columbia Kicks Off 26th Annual ‘Share Your Holiday’ Food Drive to Support Local Families

Columbia, S.C.: Join the Spirit of Giving this Holiday Season!

As the holiday season approaches, Columbia is embracing the spirit of giving with open arms! Residents are invited to participate in the 26th annual ‘Share Your Holiday’ Food Drive, a wonderful initiative that aims to fill tables across the Midlands with the joy of good food. This year, WACH FOX has once again paired up with Harvest Hope Food Bank to make a significant impact during this festive season.

When and Where

Set your alarms! On Tuesday, the hardworking crew will be stationed at Market on Main in downtown Columbia from 6:00 am to 5:30 pm. It’s the perfect opportunity for local residents to swing by and contribute to this noble cause. Whether you’re on your way to work or enjoying your day out in the city, your contribution will bring cheer to many.

What Can You Donate?

The beauty of this drive is that it welcomes everyone to join in. You can drop off non-perishable food items that can help keep families nourished during the holidays. Think canned goods, boxed meals, dry pasta, and other shelf-stable foods. Not only does this drive bring attention to hunger in our community, but it also reminds us all of the importance of helping our neighbors.

If you prefer to contribute monetarily, there are easy ways to do that too! You can make a cash donation on the spot or do it online through Harvest Hope’s donation page. Every dollar you give can go a long way in filling up someone’s holiday plate.

More Ways to Help

Can’t drop by on Tuesday? No problem! You can still help out! Local Food Lion locations are also accepting donations. Just swing by your nearest store and drop off some food items; it’s that simple! And that’s not all! Market on Main is not only a drop-off spot but also a part of the fun! Their happy hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. will see a portion of the proceeds go directly to Harvest Hope Food Bank. So grab your friends, enjoy a drink, and support a great cause at the same time!

Every Little Bit Counts

Even if it feels like your contribution is small, remember that every little bit truly helps. Just think about how much closer we can get to ending hunger in our community when we all pitch in! It’s remarkable to see how these donations come together to create a significant change. The holidays can be challenging for many, but together we can foster a sense of community and provide hope.

Let’s Make This Happen!

So mark your calendars, gather your friends and family, and head over to downtown Columbia for this heartwarming event. Let’s come together and celebrate the joy of giving this holiday season. Every drop-off, every dollar counts, and together we can make holiday tables sparkle throughout the Midlands!

For further updates or if you have any questions about the food drive, keep your ears open around town. Spread the word and let’s ensure no one in our community goes hungry this holiday season. Join the cause and help make the holidays memorable for everyone!
