COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Greenview community is gearing up to honor the Black History Month through a unique celebration focusing on the theme of “American Americans and The Arts.” The event, one of the city’s most anticipated gatherings, is set to elude the mundane routines of life, spotlighting a community’s collective tribute to African American contribution in the Arts.
With a purpose to inspire, engage, and illuminate the invaluable contribution of AfricanAmericans in the realm of Arts, Greenview has opened its arms to two esteemed personalities for the occasion – Judge Clifton Newman and Jackie Whitmore. Both had been prominently featured in the 2024 S.C. African American Calendar.
The celebration of Black History Month in Greenview is set for Saturday, February 24, starting at 11:00 A.M. The chosen venue for the event is the well-respected Reid Chapel AME Church, located at 712 Gabriel Street in Columbia. The event promises to offer an enriching exploration of history and culture.
