School District Five to Offer Golden Passes to Senior Citizens

In a commendable outreach program aimed at engaging senior citizens within the community, School District Five in Irmo, South Carolina recently announced that it will soon be offering ‘Golden Passes’ to qualifying residents. Anyone who will be turning 60 years old, or older, during the 2024-2025 school year is eligible to receive this permanent photo identification card.

Calling on Senior Citizens to Partake in District Activities

As well as offering these complimentary photo ID cards, School District Five is making a concerted push to encourage senior citizens to be actively involved in district-sponsored events and activities throughout the upcoming school year. These Golden Passes grant holders free admission to a wide range of cultural and sports events across School District Five, excluding playoff games.

“The Golden Pass program brings community members of all ages together and provides an opportunity to say thank you to our senior community for volunteering and supporting our schools,” conveyed School District Five Superintendent Dr. Akil E. Ross, Sr.

Getting the Golden Passes

The one-time pass, which does not need to be renewed, will be issued on two separate days. Residents can collect their passes on either Tuesday, July 23, between 1 and 4 p.m., or Wednesday, July 24, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. The distribution will take place at the district administration building located at 1020 Dutch Fork Road in Irmo.
