The annual South Carolina Manufacturing Conference and Expo has announced a new initiative, the ‘Made-in-South Carolina’ recognition program, at their latest meeting in Greenville. The new program, dubbed “Palmetto Proud,” aims to celebrate both the companies that manufacture within The Palmetto State and their products.
This new initiative is focused on recognizing and promoting any product, regardless of size, that is manufactured within the state. The program’s main objective is to encourage and support local businesses, hence boosting the South Carolina economy.
Nominations for inaugural recognition opened in early July and are accessible on the conference’s official website. The award ceremony for ‘Palmetto Proud’ honorees will be held during a keynote speaker’s luncheon at the South Carolina Manufacturing Conference and Expo on November 7.
Scott Warofka, associate publisher of SC Biz News, the organization behind the South Carolina Manufacturing Conference and Expo, lauded the new initiative. “South Carolina is a hotbed of manufacturing ingenuity,” he declared. “Palmetto Proud is our way of shining a spotlight on the innovative companies that call South Carolina home. It’s a celebration of all things manufactured right in our backyard.”
This year’s conference and expo will revolve around the theme of innovation. The sessions covered at this event will concentrate on discussing the latest technology trends and their impact on the manufacturing industry. Hot topics such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, autonomous vehicles, and sustainability will all feature prominently in the discussions.
South Carolina enterprises dealing with all sorts of products – whether small or big – are encouraged to send their nominations for the first-of-its-kind recognition event. ‘Palmetto Proud’ is not confined to any particular sector or product, making this an open opportunity for all kinds of manufacturers in the state.
With ‘Palmetto Proud’, the South Carolina Manufacturing Conference and Expo not only encourages local manufacturers but also emphasizes the importance of locally made goods and their impacts on boosting the state’s economy.
