12th Annual Savannah VOICE Festival Concludes with Reunion Concert

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The 12th annual Savannah VOICE Festival ended on a high note with a grand reunion concert at the 45 Bistro on Sunday night. The nearly three-week long event hosted 26 performances and witnessed the participation of singers from around the globe, providing them with a platform to learn and perform for the Savannah city locals. The festival lineup consisted of various operas including The Pirates of Penzance and The Eleanors.

According to the Festival’s Representatives, this event plays a significant role in uplifting arts and culture in the community, and not even the harshest circumstances can deter from conducting the performances. “One aim we proudly hold is to reach as many Savannah community members as possible and to work in unison with numerous hosts and institutions here in Savannah. Thus, we can introduce them to the song, the opera, and the musical theater,” Festival President/Co-Founder and Artistic Director, Maria Zouves and Jorge Parodi, remarked.

Despite the festival being impacted by a hurricane, the authorities did not allow it to hinder the performances. A few venue changes were made, but the show went on without missing a single performance. The reunion concert marked the culmination of all the hard work and determination put into the festival.

The festival was made possible through collaborations with organizations and prestigious institutions like Hospice Savannah and Esther F. Garrison School for the Arts. The reunion concert commenced at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets were made available online and also sold at the door.
