Additional Support for Homeless Citizens

Union Mission will be operational from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Old Savannah City Mission from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. They are located at 120 Fahm St. and 2414 Bull St., respectively.

Safeguarding Our Equine Friends

The city is also implementing its heat safety ordinances for horses. When the heat index exceeds 110 degrees or if the actual temperature hits 95 degrees, horse-drawn carriages are prohibited from operating on city streets. In such cases, horses will be kept at their stands or returned to their stables. Savannah officials have sent reminders of these rules to all local horse carriage tour businesses.

The City of Savannah encourages its citizens to ensure their own safety and comfort by utilizing these facilities and staying hydrated during the hot weather.
