Man Wanted for Columbia Neighborhood Pool Shooting Turns Himself In

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) has confirmed that a man wanted in connection with a recent shooting at a local neighborhood pool has turned himself in. Joshua House, aged 22, surrendered himself at the RCSD Headquarters around 8 a.m. on Monday.

This development brings the total number of arrests made in relation to this case to seven. The shooting took place off of Farrow Road on Tuesday, May 28.

Other Arrests

Days following the shooting, RCSD reported the arrests of 17-year-old Treshawn Keller and 21-year-old Michael Abara. However, Abara’s name was not released at the time of the announcement.

Cases of Aggravated Breach of Peace

During a press conference last week, Sheriff Leon Lott stated that House is facing charges of aggravated breach of peace and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. According to Lott, the shooting was premeditated with multiple individuals firing haphazardly with modified weapons. Some firearms had been altered with an unlawful Glock switch for rapid, continuous fire. The suspects reportedly fired over 70 shell casings within a mere 22 seconds.

Victim of the Shooting

Authorities have reported that a 16-year-old sustained injuries on account of the shooting. During last week’s press conference, Sheriff Lott added that more arrests are expected in connection to the case.

Community Safety Measures

In light of recent events, RCSD plans to aid the Villages at Lakeshore in establishing a Community Crime Watch at their next neighborhood meeting scheduled for Thursday.
