Hey Columbia! Great news is brewing in your vibrant downtown as Peak Drift Brewing Co. is making some fantastic updates to its taproom offerings. The company has officially partnered with Smoked, a local favorite known for its mouthwatering menu and cozy atmosphere, to launch an official taproom right in the heart of Columbia. If you’ve been longing for a spot to gather with friends over a cold one, you’re in for a treat!
Originally, Peak Drift had plans to open a taproom at their North Main location in the fall of 2023. However, as the brewery experienced rapid growth – now taking charge as a contract brewing service for other local breweries – they decided to shift gears. Instead of a customer-centric brewery at the North Main site, Peak Drift has opted for a more dynamic partnership with Smoked, who has been supportive from the very beginning.
Over the past year and a half, Smoked has hosted a lively Peak Drift Patio Party that has become a staple event for locals every First Thursday on Main Street. This fun gathering has paved the way for creating an official taproom menu, which means guests can now enjoy some exclusive Peak Drift treats at Smoked anytime they visit. “Guests will now be able to sip on unique brews and enjoy delicious bites, all in a warm and inviting atmosphere,” said Master Brewer Jordan Skeen.
So, what can you expect at the new Peak Drift taproom? For starters, you’ll have access to a menu that’s previously only been available during special events. This includes a delightful selection that can now be enjoyed not just at the main bar, but also at the Oasis Lounge and the lovely back patio. For those of you who might not feel like a formal dining experience, this relaxed vibe at Smoked allows you to pop in anytime – no reservations needed!
Smoked is dedicated to being your “third-place,” where you can unwind with family or friends outside of home and work. Owner Sara Middleton Styles mentions, “We want everyone to feel comfortable and welcome, whether they’re stopping by for a quick drink or hanging out for a celebration.”
But that’s not all! Peak Drift Brewing is expanding its product line as well. Along with the rich selection of craft brews, they’ve introduced Delta-9 THC seltzers and are on a mission to cater to the growing demand for hard seltzers and non-alcoholic beverages. Being one of the first South Carolina breweries to reach international markets, their products have now made their way to the United Kingdom, with plans to expand to Denmark and Switzerland. How’s that for a local brand going global?
Peak Drift’s commitment to the community really shines through their efforts in sourcing ingredients from local orchards, which they then use to create amazing flavors in their beers. Their focus on sustainability is also notable, as they utilize in-house equipment for fruit processing, adding a fresh touch to their craft beverages. Plus, they brew all their products with care in their state-of-the-art facility, which boasts the only in-house can printer in South Carolina!
As highlighted by CEO Jordan Styles, “We are excited to continuously expand our production and offerings, all while uplifting our local craft beer community.”
If you’re just as excited as we are about this new journey for Peak Drift Brewing Co., why not stop by Smoked and check out their new taproom? Whether you’re looking for a refreshing drink, a lovely meal, or just a fun place to kick back with friends, you’ll find it all there. So, Cheers Columbia!
