Parkland Plaza to gain new tenants in shopping center

COLUMBIA – The esteemed shopping center, Parkland Plaza, will soon welcome a set of new tenants. The outparcel edifice within the plaza is set to be leased to Oak Street Health, a highly regarded primary health care center catering to elderly adults.

Oak Street Health, an undertaking by CVS Health, was initiated in 2012 and now boasts over 200 branches spread across the country. As per the information released, the newly incoming health center will set up a modern clinic within the outparcel building located on the State Street side of Parkland Plaza.

Retail Services Vision for Parkland Plaza

A statement by Rox Pollard, Vice President and Director of Retail Services Team at Colliers, highlights their vision. He stated that Oak Street Health will not only further enrich the plaza’s existing health and wellness sector but also provide a significant service to the entire downtown Columbia, Cayce, and West Columbia area.

The plaza’s tenants presently comprise of well-known establishments such as Food Lion, ACE Hardware, Planet Fitness, Capital Climbing, Beall’s, and East Bay Deli, among others. In addition, a very popular chain store, Five Below, is set to lease the area this fall, amplifying the dynamic tenant mix at the plaza. It will be found next to East Bay Deli, occupying the erstwhile space of Jewelry Warehouse.

Location and Visibility

Parkland Plaza is conveniently situated close to USC’s campus and offers an expansive area of 174,833-square-foot for shopping activities. It also holds the strategic advantage of being close to Columbia’s Central Business District, USC’s baseball stadium, and other proximate riverfront developments, enhancing its accessibility and attractiveness for shoppers.

Recently, Parkland Plaza underwent renovations to sport a stylish, contemporary look. Its location sees heavy daily traffic with approximately 28,000 vehicles passing by on Knox Abbott Drive and roughly 8,100 vehicles on State Street. This gives the shopping center excellent visibility and aids in boosting the growth of its resident businesses.

The new additions to Parkland Plaza manifest the center’s commitment to revitalization and diversification. The incoming tenants are sure to increase the appeal of the Plaza to shoppers and potentially draw in an even greater crowd.
