In the heart of Orangeburg, the community rallied together on October 25 for an important event—Save A Life Day—hosted by The Courage Center. With the ongoing challenges of substance misuse, this event aimed to provide vital information and resources to help individuals in need.
Set up in the vibrant parking lot of Kimbrell’s Furniture, The Courage Center made sure that anyone who stopped by had access to crucial life-saving products, including Narcan, a well-known antidote that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. In total, the center distributed approximately 25 Narcan kits on that day, ensuring that members of the community left armed with tools that could potentially save a life.
The Courage Center, which operates out of 950 Holly St., is dedicated to supporting those struggling with substance misuse. This organization is all about creating a welcoming community environment, and they will be kicking off their All Recovery meetings on November 19. Interested individuals are encouraged to call (803) 987-8700 for more details, and everyone is welcomed with open arms.
