Exciting Events Highlight Columbia’s October Festivities!

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Exciting Events Coming Up This October!

Hey there, Columbia! If you’re looking for fun things to do this weekend, you’re in luck! There are several fantastic events happening in our lovely city that you won’t want to miss. So grab your friends or bring the whole family and join in on the local festivities!

Free College Night at the South Carolina State Museum

First up, on Thursday, October 3, the South Carolina State Museum is rolling out the red carpet for college students with a special College Night. If you’re a student at USC, you get in for free! If you’re attending another institution, you can still enjoy the museum at a discounted rate. It’s a great chance to see all that this amazing place has to offer.

Make sure to catch the thrilling planetarium laser shows and 4D movies, which will be available for just $3 each. Remember that those are first come, first serve, so arrive early to snag your spot! The event runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., making for a perfect evening out after classes.

Join the Cayce Fall Fest!

On Saturday, October 5, head over to Granby Gardens Park for the annual Cayce Fall Fest! This community favorite is free and open to everyone, so feel free to bring your friends, family, and even neighbors! The fun begins at 12 p.m. and goes until 6 p.m..

Prepare for a delightful day filled with live music, delicious food, face painting for the kids, and even a petting zoo. What’s not to love? It’s an excellent way to embrace the fall spirit and support local vendors at the same time!

Isabel Law Breast Cancer Breakfast

7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Columbia Mayor Daniel Rickenmann will host the annual Isabel Law Breast Cancer Breakfast at City Hall on Main Street. This event is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to a crucial cause. With tickets priced at just $15, all proceeds will go towards funding a 3D mammography imaging unit at the Prisma Health Parkridge campus.

Tickets can be picked up at City Hall or at the payment center located on Harden Street. Join in to support the important work being done for breast cancer awareness and treatment!

R&B Legends Tamia and Joe Live!

And if you love music, don’t forget about the concert happening later that same evening, October 4, at the Colonial Life Arena. You still have a chance to get your tickets for the highly-anticipated performance of R&B legends Tamia and Joe. The show starts at 8 p.m., but doors will open at 7 p.m., giving you some time to soak in the atmosphere before the music begins.

Tamia is set to belt out her hits including “Stranger in my House” and “So Into You”, while Joe will be bringing his classics like “I Wanna Know” and “Stutter”. It’s bound to be a night of nostalgia and great tunes, so make sure to grab your tickets online!

Conclusion

Columbia, you definitely have an amazing few days ahead! Whether you’re checking out the museum or enjoying a local fest, there’s something for everyone. Be sure to partake in these events, and let’s show our community spirit together. Happy October, Columbia!
