Columbia Community Gears Up for Festive November Events!

Columbia Buzz: Your Guide to Everything Happening This November!

Hello there, Columbia! It’s that time of year again where the air gets a little crisper and the calendar fills up with events that bring our vibrant community alive! Whether you’re into arts, health fairs, or looking for ways to get festive, we’ve got a list of happenings that will keep you entertained all month long!

Art Lovers Rejoice!

Starting off, if you’re interested in exploring your artistic side, make sure to check out Alexandra’s Art Studio located at 111 Sparkleberry Crossing Road. They offer a plethora of options like adult classes, children’s classes, and even art camps to keep the kids engaged during the holidays. So, grab your paintbrushes and unleash your creativity!

And mark your calendars for the Historic Melrose Art in the Yard on December 8 from 1 to 5 p.m. This event will be a lovely outdoor affair spreading over several city blocks. Maps and more details will be available on their Facebook and Instagram pages, so stay tuned!

Get Your Dance Shoes On!

For those of you who’d rather be on your feet than in an art studio, how about joining the fun at the Palmetto Scottish Country Dance? Held every Monday from 6 to 7:45 p.m. at the Eastminster Presbyterian Community Life Center, it’s open to all ages – a great way to meet new friends and get moving!

Additionally, if ballet’s more your style, swing by the Columbia Music Festival Association on Thursdays at 7 p.m. for adult ballet classes. Beginners are welcome, so don’t hesitate to join in and find your inner dancer!

Festivals and Fundraisers!

Calling all festival fans! The Midlands Crafter’s Association is hosting the highly anticipated Midlands Christmas Arts & Crafts Market this weekend, November 2-3 at the South Carolina State Farmers Market. It’s the perfect opportunity to find unique gifts for your friends and family while supporting local artisans!

Also, don’t miss out on the Wine on the River fundraiser happening on November 8 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the West Columbia Riverwalk. Sip wine, enjoy the beautiful views, and feel good knowing you’re supporting a great cause. Tickets can be found on their website!

Community Health Fair

If health is where your heart lies, then the free “Healthy Me-Healthy SC” community health fair on November 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Andrews Park is a must-attend event. It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn about wellness resources available in our community while having fun with family-friendly activities!

Support Groups and More!

And for those seeking connection and understanding, various support groups are meeting throughout the month, including the Promise of Serenity NAR-ANON Meeting, which takes place every Monday at 6 p.m. This group is specifically for families and friends of individuals struggling with addiction. It’s a safe space to share and uplift each other.

Mark Your Calendars!

Don’t forget about the great performances headed your way! The Betsy Blackmon Dance Company will present its Fall Concert on November 7-8 at the Koger Center for the Arts, and the Illusionist Mike Super will wow audiences with his tricks on November 8 at Harbison Theatre. Get your tickets early – you won’t want to miss these spectacular shows!

So there you have it, Columbia! A month packed to the brim with fun, creativity, and community engagement. Whether you’re looking to dance, shop, support local causes, or simply enjoy some quality time with loved ones, there’s something happening for everyone. Have fun and enjoy what our wonderful city has to offer!
