An artistic rendering of the upcoming shopping center featuring a Target store in Lexington County.
Lexington County is gearing up for a new shopping center featuring a Target store at its core, located on Augusta Highway. Developed by 413 Solutions, the project is expected to be operational by fall 2026. This strategic addition aims to boost local retail options and support the community’s growing population, while addressing concerns about traffic and crime. Residents can look forward to an array of shopping choices and potential economic uplift as the construction of the new venue unfolds.
Lexington County is buzzing with anticipation over a brand-new shopping center that’s set to bring a Target store as its grand centerpiece. This highly awaited project will unfold in the 2500 block of Augusta Highway, right across from the bustling grounds of Lexington High School. It’s a thrilling time for the community as plans unfold to convert this currently undeveloped, mostly wooded land into a vibrant shopping destination!
The developers, 413 Solutions based in Dallas, shared their exciting plans on February 5, 2025. With an expected opening slated for the fall of 2026, this shopping venue is set to reshape the shopping experience for locals and visitors alike. Emmitt Smith, the remarkable all-time leading rusher for the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, leads the team at 413 Solutions, showcasing a genuine interest in the growth and future of Lexington County.
This shopping hub won’t just be another commercial space—it’s thoughtfully positioned in an area that’s experiencing rapid growth. Nestled just north of Interstate 20 and south of U.S. 378, residents can expect an influx of retail options and easy accessibility. The convenience of having a Target so close will certainly have shoppers cheering, especially as several new residential subdivisions are popping up along Augusta Highway toward Gilbert.
What makes this project even more significant is the anticipated economic uplift it promises for the region. The planning team, including David Mosley of 413 Solutions, views this shopping center as a strategic investment in the community’s future. Lexington County has witnessed impressive population growth, soaring from 216,000 in 2000 to over 309,000 in 2023. This shopping center is poised to meet the evolving needs of the residents.
The new shopping center will boast just over 206,000 square feet of retail space, comfortably situated adjacent to the Oak Pointe neighborhood. Residents will benefit from a range of offerings including restaurants, grocery stores, and other retail options, enriching their shopping experience without traveling far from home.
In terms of nearby shopping options, the area already hosts a variety of retail spots including Lowes Foods, Publix, Little Caesars, McDonald’s, Starbucks, Bojangles, Planet Fitness, and Zaxby’s. With the addition of the new shopping center, residents are about to have even more choices, making it a well-rounded destination for all shopping needs!
As Lexington County continues to embrace growth and development, the new shopping center led by a familiar face brings a positive vibe to the community. When it opens, it will be the second Target store in Lexington, with the first one located at 5119 Sunset Blvd., along with additional locations on Garners Ferry Road and Harbison Boulevard in Columbia.
It’s an exciting time to be in Lexington County as the community prepares for this new chapter, transforming Augusta Highway into a bustling retail corridor that will cater to the needs of its residents!
