Tickets for the broadway rendition of “Shrek The Musical” are now available for the local audience in Columbia, South Carolina. Scheduled to come alive at the Koger Center, the shows will be held from Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The musical draws inspiration from the beloved movie and will feature known characters such as Shrek, Donkey, and Fiona. Prospective audience members can secure their tickets starting at $45.
For music enthusiasts, the Koger Center will host the “Make Music Day” festival this Friday, June 21. Running from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., the free festival is part of a global music event that was initiated in France back in 1982. Today, it is celebrated in over a thousand cities across 120 countries, all on the same day.
The Riverbanks Zoo in collaboration with Harvest Hope Food Banks brings a special opportunity for locals to give back through “Toucan Tuesdays”. Every Tuesday through August 13, guests are encouraged to bring two cans of non-perishable food items. In return, they will receive buy-one-get-one admission tickets to the zoo and the same deal on regular-sized Icees. The initiative aims to address food security issues in the region, and donation bins have been set up at the entrances to both the Zoo and Garden.
In addition to these highlighted events, other local activities are brewing in the city, including a focus on supporting the elderly and mentally impaired, and recognizing student-athletes’ achievements. Columbia continues to foster community engagement and offers diverse event options for its residents.
