Lexington County Rallies to Locate Missing 14-Year-Old James Shealy

Lexington County Community Comes Together in Search for Missing Teenager

LEXINGTON, SC – The tight-knit community of Lexington County is pulling together in the search for a missing teenager, 14-year-old James Shealy. James was last seen on September 24th around 6 a.m. off Wise Ferry Road, and local authorities are asking for everyone’s help to bring him home safely.

According to reports, James was dressed in a dark grey hoodie that looked almost charcoal, accompanied by shorts and tennis shoes. Standing at six feet tall and weighing around 135 pounds, James is described as a typical teenager eager to explore his surroundings. However, the circumstances of his disappearance have raised concerns among family and friends.

His aunt, Emily Bebbington, took to social media to spread the word about James. In her heartfelt post, she shared details about the search efforts, noting, “The police are trying everything, including interviewing neighbors and friends, going through all of his electronics, utilizing a drone, and even tracking dogs that lost his scent. So far, sadly, nothing has been successful.” She also mentioned that James did not have his cell phone with him at the time he went missing, making communication even tougher for him.

The community’s response has been overwhelming, with many friends and neighbors banding together to assist in the search. Local authorities have also stepped up their efforts, actively working to find any clues that could lead to James. The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department encourages anyone with any information on James’s whereabouts to come forward.

If you have any information, please call 911 immediately,” the Sheriff’s Department urged. They are eager to have officers respond promptly to any tips provided.

The family remains hopeful and is thankful for the support they have received thus far. “We believe that together with our community’s help, we will find James and bring him back home,” Bebbington said, expressing the family’s appreciation for the outreach and support surrounding their situation.

Weather Update: Rain and Thunderstorms Ahead

In an unrelated note, while the community deals with the search for James, it looks like Mother Nature has decided to make her presence felt as well. Residents should be prepared for periods of rain throughout today, with estimates showing a 100% chance of rain later in the day. The weather forecast predicts heavy rainfall, with expected totals ranging from 3 to 5 inches. The high today is forecasted to reach 77°F, with winds blowing in from the east-southeast at 10 to 15 mph.

As the day progresses, scattered thunderstorms are anticipated in the evening, followed by a windy night as conditions ramp up. It’s worth noting that another inch of rain might fall overnight, as winds shift to the east-northeast at speeds ranging from 25 to 35 mph. So, if you were planning to head outside this weekend, it might be a good idea to keep an eye on the weather and perhaps plan for some cozy indoor activities instead.

As we keep our eyes fixed on both the search for James and the stormy weather, it’s a reminder that during tough times, a supportive community can make all the difference. Let’s band together to help find James, and stay safe during the storm!
