Lake Murray in Chapin, South Carolina, has become the location of the fifth-tallest dry stack facility worldwide. Putnam’s Harbor Marina, now open for business, hosted its grand opening on Thursday, April 25, 2024, aiming to dramatically redefine the boating experience for locals and tourists.
This state-of-the-art, waterfront facility boasts over 360 storage spaces in its dry stack and newly built wet slips, accommodating boats of various sizes and offering unmatched customer service. As co-owner Brandon Crutchfield mentions, after the previous Putnam’s closed, the place where he and his now-business partner enjoyed cheeseburgers as children took on a vision of potential. “Four years later, I’m proud to say that vision has become a reality with the opening of Putnam’s Harbor,” Crutchfield declared.
Putnam’s Harbor Marina offers everything necessary for a memorable day on the waters of Lake Murray. From the availability of three types of fuel (including diesel), electricity, water, and pump-out services, to floating docks and a well-stocked store, this marina ensures that patrons will have their requirements met. The store offers not only essential items but also a variety of refreshments.
Guests can also look forward to mobile food truck kitchens at regular intervals, presenting an ever-changing menu of regional culinary treats. To complement these amenities, washroom and shower facilities are available to help patrons freshen up after a day of water fun.
For more information on slip rentals, marina provisions, or other inquiries, interested parties can visit the Putnam’s Harbor Marina website, call their office, or send an email to their designated address.
The Capital City/Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Board, the official source for all things Lake Murray Country, fully backs this newly enhanced tourist location. Travellers can learn more and plan their next Lake Murray adventure by contacting the board or visiting their website.
