Residents of South Carolina are on high alert as local law enforcement and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) intensify their search for an inmate who escaped from a detention center in Elizabethton, Tennessee. The escaped inmate, identified as 43-year-old Billy Reed Fletcher, is believed to have crossed state lines and is assumed to be in South Carolina.

The escape incident occurred last week on June 20, 2024, leading to a multi-state search that has gained increasing traction as recent developments unfold.

Fletcher’s Last Known Whereabouts

On Monday, June 24, 2024, Fletcher was reportedly spotted at a Walmart premises in Greenville County, South Carolina. This was the most recent sighting and has led to a direct shift in the manhunt towards South Carolina. Law enforcement officers have urged the local community to cooperate fully to ensure the recapture of the inmate.
