BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. – A man from Shell Point was arrested early Thursday morning in Beaufort County following a shooting that resulted in the death of a woman, according to county deputies.
The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Brenden Elsila, has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
Deputies reported that they responded to a call regarding a gunshot wound stemming from an alleged “domestic incident” around 6 a.m. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a deceased woman. Elsila was also present at the scene and was immediately detained by the deputies.
Elsila is being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center.
