BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. – A man from Shell Point was arrested early Thursday morning in Beaufort County following a shooting that resulted in the death of a woman, according to county deputies.
The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Brenden Elsila, has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
Deputies reported that they responded to a call regarding a gunshot wound stemming from an alleged “domestic incident” around 6 a.m. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a deceased woman. Elsila was also present at the scene and was immediately detained by the deputies.
Elsila is being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center. As the investigation continues, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who may have further information on the case to get in touch.
