Local events in Columbia, South Carolina are featuring a range of activities for residents in the upcoming weeks. The three notable events include the Paddle and Pint at Saluda Shoals Park, the 50th Anniversary celebration of National EMS Week, and the final Drift Jam music festival.

Paddle and Pint at Saluda Shoals Park

Get out on the river for a fun and sociable kayaking experience at the Paddle and Pint event at Saluda Shoals Park. Taking place on Friday, June 14, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., attendees will have the opportunity to paddle down the lower Saluda River, taking in the picturesque surroundings and making new friends. Afterwards, a craft beer sampling session will allow for relaxation and conversation. Tickets for the event are priced at $47 per person.

National EMS Week

To honor the 50th anniversary of National EMS Week, the South Carolina EMS Association will host a Family Fun Day on Saturday, May 25, starting at 11:30 a.m. at the state fairgrounds. This celebratory event will include food trucks, a live concert by musician Corey Smith, plus a silent auction. Generated funds from the event will go towards the support of EMS education. General admission tickets are available for $15.

Drift Jam

Music lovers are invited to take part in the world’s largest floating music festival, Drift Jam, for the final time. The event is set to take place on Saturday, June 1, at 11 a.m. on Spence Island at Lake Murray. Thousands of boats will be on the water featuring live performances by artists including Prettier Than Matt and A Thousand Horses. Tyler Ryan, a well-known local figure, will be hosting the event.

From outdoor activities, community celebrations, to music festivals, Columbia offers numerous opportunities for residents and visitors alike to engage with the local culture and community.
