Concerts: Music for everyone’s ears

Starting the celebrations off, Steel Hands Brewing hosts Channing Wilson as part of their Nashville Nights concert series on Friday, July 5. The Upstate SC band Retro 78 also takes to the stage at Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin’ Parlor for a night of classic bluegrass tunes.

The musical festivities continue throughout the weekend, with Savage Craft Ale Works hosting popular local band Prettier Than Matt on Saturday, July 6. The same evening will also be lit up by the mesmerizing sounds of multi-talented singer, songwriter and producer Eugene Genay Williams at O’Hara’s Public House.

Historical Tour and Entertaining Games

For history enthusiasts, the weekend offers a Civil War walking tour at the 12,000 Year History Park, where attendees can walk the battlefield of Congaree Creek and learn about the critical events that took place there.

On Monday, July 8, the Lexington Main Library invites amateur sleuths for an exciting session of Unsolved Case Files, where participants can try their hand at solving a complex murder mystery.

Entertaining Music Bingo and Tribute Concerts

Get your music and trivia skills ready for a fun-fueled Tuesday evening at the Hazelwood Brewing Company’s Music Bingo. Participants can test their knowledge and memory of various songs and artists while having a blast.

In a tribute evening to the iconic band, The Icehouse Amphitheater hosts Zoso: The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience on Thursday, July 11.

Jazz and Local Market

For the jazz music lovers, on the same Thursday evening Chayz Lounge continues its Jazz After 5 series with “The Sax Experience” show, featuring saxophonist David Glymph.

The community can also show their support to local vendors at the Meeting Street Artisan Market and enjoy the unique sculptures throughout the park.

Across the County Line

If you wish to venture a bit outside Lexington County for some unique experiences, Saluda Shoals Park is lighting up their holiday lights in the middle of summer from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Get ready for an anime-themed dance party at the Anime Rave on Friday, July 5, hosted by New Brookland Tavern.

The Aiken Music Festival on Saturday, July 6, brings an amazing musical experience with the band Grits & Greens. Fresh and local produce is available at the Ridge Spring Farmer’s Market on the same day.

The week wraps up with the SC Philharmonic’s annual Chamber Crawl event at the Columbia Draft Brewing Company on Sunday, July 7.
