An unfortunate incident unfolded today in Irmo, South Carolina, as a CSX train hit a pedestrian causing a fatal blow. Around noon today, as the train passed through the town, the company notified the local police department, suspecting they had hit something.

The collision occurred near the intersection of North Royal Tower Drive and North Woodrow Street, which was subsequently blocked off. Richland County Sheriff’s Department provides the confirmation.
Upon investigation, it was determined that it was indeed a pedestrian who had been struck by the train.
