Exciting News for West Columbia Residents: Holiday Updates You Don’t Want to Miss!

Hey there, West Columbia friends! As the holiday season swings into full gear, there’s a whole lot happening in our vibrant city. From city hall closures to sanitation schedule updates and even fireworks regulations, we’ve got the scoop to keep you in the loop. So, grab a cup of cocoa and get cozy as we dive into the details you need!

City Hall Closures – Mark Your Calendars!

First up on the agenda, let’s talk about City Hall closures. If you’re planning on a visit, take note! City Hall will be closed for Christmas on Wednesday and Thursday, December 25–26, 2024. That means no in-person service, so make sure to wrap up any business beforehand. But don’t worry, everything will be back to normal when regular business hours resume on Friday, December 27, 2024.

And let’s not forget about New Year’s Day! City Hall will also take a little break on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, but you can swing by again on Thursday, January 2, when everything will be back to usual. So, plan accordingly!

Sanitation Schedule Adjustments – Keep Your Community Clean!

Now, for those eager to keep their homes and neighborhoods sparkling clean, listen up! The sanitation schedule is going to see some changes for the holidays. Specifically, for Christmas, Thursday routes will be pushed to Friday, December 27, 2024. That means if you usually have your trash picked up on Thursday, it’ll happen one day later, so don’t forget!

Important note for yard waste enthusiasts: There will be no yard trash collection on that day, so save those leaves and branches for the next collection. Let’s keep our streets tidy but also be mindful of our trash schedules.

As for New Year’s Day, there will be no yard trash collection on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. So, keep that in mind as you ring in the New Year!
