Columbia Unveils Dazzling Holiday Ornament to Support Local Community Center

Columbia Celebrates with a Sparkling New Holiday Ornament

Hey Columbia! As the holiday season approaches, it seems the cheerful spirit is already taking over our beautiful city. Just recently, Columbia Mayor Daniel Rickenmann joined forces with the incredible folks from the Babcock Center to unveil this year’s special city ornament, and guess what? It’s simply dazzling!

The Design Delight: The Arcade Building

This year, the ornament proudly showcases The Arcade Building, a beloved landmark right in downtown Columbia. If you haven’t seen it already, this architectural gem is known for its stunning design and historic significance, making it a perfect pick for this collector’s series. Did you know that this little ornament is the 32nd in Columbia’s collectible collection? That’s right, it’s become a cherished tradition for many locals and visitors alike!

Shiny and Charitable

Now, let’s talk about how this little beauty is not just gorgeous but also supports a fantastic cause! Each ornament is made with 24-karat gold on brass and comes snuggly packed in a pretty felt case. But here’s the kicker – all proceeds from these ornaments go directly to the Babcock Center Foundation, a private non-profit that supports over 800 individuals in our community living with lifelong disabilities in Richland and Lexington counties. So, when you pick one up, you’re not just getting a lovely decoration; you’re helping make a difference in someone’s life!

How to Get Your Hands on One

Now that you’re all fired up to grab this stunning ornament, you might be wondering how to get your hands on it, right? Well, you can purchase these festive treasures for just $24 at the Babcock Center Foundation Office located at 2725 Banny Jones Avenue in West Columbia or swing by the Columbia Visitor’s Center. It’s super easy!

Prefer to shop from the comfort of your home? No worries! You can also place your order by phone by giving the Babcock Center Foundation a call at 803-799-1970 or head online to www.babcockcenter.org. They’ve made it easy-peasy for everyone!

A Cloudy Day but Bright Spirits

Speaking of the weather, it looks like Columbia will be embracing a bit of a cloudy day with temperatures reaching a cozy 66°F and mild winds blowing through. We might even see a few occasional rain showers. So while you’re out hunting for your ornament, don’t forget to pack an umbrella just in case! The chance of rain is at about 40% today, so it’s always best to be prepared.

And as we inch closer to the holiday festivities, it’s heartwarming to see our community coming together to support a meaningful cause. The holiday season is a perfect time to reflect on giving back, and this ornament is an ideal opportunity to do just that while adding a sparkly new piece to your holiday collection!

Mark Your Calendars!

So, Columbia, let’s spread the word about this fantastic ornament and the wonderful cause behind it! It’s not only about pulling together our holiday cheer but also about lifting up those in our community who need a little extra support. Let’s continue to make Columbia a magical place to live, full of generosity and goodwill this season. Happy shopping!
