BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C.- A fatal crash occurred in Beaufort County, leading to one person’s death, following a late-night single-vehicle accident on Tuesday. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently carrying out an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway, the accident took place around 11:01 p.m. on Brickyard Point Road North, near Ferguson Drive and 3.2 miles east of Beaufort. A 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck traveling eastbound on Brickyard Point Road North reportedly veered off the left side of the roadway. The driver attempted to correct the mishap, which then caused the vehicle to overcorrect and deviate from the roadway to the right, resulting in an overturn.
The incident led to the immediate death of the Chevrolet pickup truck’s driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the accident. The identity of the deceased has not been revealed, as the Beaufort County Coroner’s Office is yet to release the name.
