On a lovely day in Irmo, South Carolina, an exciting event unfolded as curious third graders from H.E. Corley Elementary School learned all about the fascinating world of weather. With bright smiles and eager hands, they welcomed Chief Meteorologist Taylor Kanost to their classroom for an engaging session filled with knowledge and fun.

The young weather enthusiasts couldn’t contain their enthusiasm as they bombarded Taylor with questions about everything weather-related. From how tornadoes form to the daily life of a meteorologist, no stone was left unturned. It was clear that these kids were excited to soak up wisdom from a weather expert!

One of the highlights of the visit was when Taylor demonstrated how hurricanes form. In addition, they discussed safety measures for tornadoes, discovering which part of a house is the safest place to seek shelter when a storm approaches.

The students even got a chance to step into the spotlight themselves, with one eager fourth-grader named Hunter presenting the forecast for the upcoming Election Day. Hunter did a commendable job, infusing his forecast with enthusiasm and knowledge that impressed his classmates and teachers alike.
