Columbia, S.C.: Time to Clear Out the Clutter!

Hey there, Columbia! Are you feeling overwhelmed by those stacks of old bills, documents, and other bits of paper that seem to clutter every nook and cranny of your home? If so, we have great news for you. This Wednesday, October 9, is your chance to declutter and dispose of those unwanted papers safely and securely! The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is hosting its Fall Shred Day, and it’s going to be a breeze.

When and Where

Mark your calendars! The event takes place from 10 a.m. to noon at Second Calvary Baptist Church, located just off North Main Street at 1110 Mason Rd. in Columbia. Whether you’ve got old credit card statements, floppy disks, CDs, or any personal paperwork you need to get rid of, this is your opportunity!

What to Bring

Worried about how much you can bring? Don’t be! You can load up your car with up to three copy paper-sized boxes, or alternatively, three kitchen trash bags filled with those pesky documents. Just imagine how satisfying it will be to see them go!

More Than Just Shredding

But wait, there’s more! If you’ve been looking for a way to responsibly dispose of opened prescription medication bottles, you’re in luck. Shred360 will also accept those for destruction to ensure they don’t fall into the wrong hands.

While you’re busy decluttering, consider supporting a worthy cause. The BBB is teaming up with the American Red Cross to help victims of Hurricane Helene. So, dig deep and consider making a monetary donation as you participate in the shredding event. After all, giving a little can help a lot! Credit and debit card donations will be accepted, making it easier than ever to lend a hand.

Why It’s Important

Getting rid of clutter not only frees up physical space but can also lighten your mental load. Plus, securely shredding personal papers is a crucial step in protecting yourself from identity theft. With so much important information lying around, it’s wise to dispose of it in a safe manner.

By taking just a little time this Wednesday, you can tackle both your personal clutter and help those affected by a natural disaster. Isn’t it a great feeling to know that you can take that paper mountain and make a meaningful impact all at once?

Join Us!

So, if your home is full of unwanted documents, mark your calendar for October 9 and join your fellow Columbians in this community effort. It’s going to be a fun and rewarding experience, and who doesn’t love a little organization? Bring your friends, family, or neighbors along to make it a day of collective spring cleaning!

Let’s come together, clear out the clutter, and support those in need. We’ll see you at the Fall Shred Day! Remember, it’s from 10 a.m. to noon at Second Calvary Baptist Church.
