Exciting New Bakery and Café Opens in Columbia’s Vista District

Exciting New Bakery Opens Up in Columbia’s Vista District

Columbia, SC – The buzzing heart of downtown Columbia just got a little sweeter! On September 18, 2024, the Congaree Vista Guild celebrated the grand opening of Dulce Bakery and Café with a festive ribbon-cutting event at their new address, 1213 Lincoln St.. After making a name for themselves in Irmo, owners Iris Perea and Sharisa Boyle have made the leap to the vibrant Vista district, all while rebranding their beloved bakery.

From Irmo to the Vista

Previously known as Cake Collection Boutique, Dulce Bakery and Café found a new home in a space that was once occupied by the well-known Cupcake Down South. This transition isn’t just a change in address for the owners; it’s the beginning of an exciting new chapter for their bakery. With this move, they are bringing their signature flavors and a fresh concept to the bustling city scene.

Dulce Bakery and Café promises to tantalize your taste buds with an array of delightful treats. Visitors can look forward to indulging in a selection of sweet treats, including cupcakes, luscious cake slices, and the mouthwatering tres leches. And for those who crave something a little different, there are also brownies and plans for savory breakfast sandwiches to keep cravings at bay.

A Café Experience

But that’s not all! According to the bakery’s announcement, Dulce aims to expand their offerings with a café-style experience during lunch hours. Think about this: delicious soups, scrumptious sandwiches, and a fabulous dessert bar in the evenings! Doesn’t that just sound amazing? Imagine enjoying a cozy afternoon or a delightful evening with friends, surrounded by delicious aromas and sweet treats!

The Congaree Vista Guild’s Commitment

The opening event was not just a celebration of desserts but also a demonstration of the community spirit in Columbia. The Congaree Vista Guild, a non-profit organization led by a dedicated board of 14 members from various business sectors, played a significant role in making this grand opening a reality. It’s organizations like these that ensure our city continues to thrive and grow.

Join the Fun!

If you find yourself in the area, Dulce Bakery and Café is an absolute must-visit. Whether you’re stopping by for a morning pick-me-up coffee or treating yourself to an afternoon snack, you’ll find some delicious options waiting for you. Plus, with the exciting plans in place for lunch and evening offerings, it sounds like there will always be something new to try!

As Columbia continues to evolve, it’s clear that local businesses like Dulce Bakery and Café are central to its charm. So gather your friends, bring your family, and swing by for a taste of what’s new in the Vista district. It’s time to celebrate the sweeter side of life!
