Hey there, Columbia! The holiday season is right around the corner, and it’s time to spread some joy and cheer throughout our beautiful city. Whether you’re looking for festive activities to enjoy with family or ways to give back to the community, there’s something for everyone this time of year. Let’s dive into the exciting events and opportunities happening now!
First on our list is an absolutely brilliant festive celebration at Segra Park. The popular Fireflies Holiday Lights are back and better than ever! If you haven’t had the chance to check it out yet, this dazzling display is open now through January 4th on select nights from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. You can marvel at the enchanting lights and ignite your holiday spirit. Plus, the beloved Fireflies Express return adds a little extra magic to the experience.
Tickets are a steal at just $10 this month, but do note they’ll go up to $12 next month. So, gather your friends and family, grab some hot cocoa, and immerse yourselves in the beauty of the season under the sparkling lights!
Every adopted pet will leave the shelter spayed or neutered, microchipped, and with their vaccinations up-to-date. Talk about a win-win! The shelter is open for adoptions Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you’re ready to welcome a loving companion into your home, this is a great opportunity to save a life!
If you’re in the mood for some delicious food AND supporting a great cause, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office has got you covered with their 18th Annual Thanksgiving Fundraiser happening next week! For just $10, you can enjoy a plate filled with scrumptious chicken, two sides, and a mouth-watering dessert.
Mark your calendar for pick-up on **Wednesday, November 27th** at the training center behind the sheriff’s office. Not only will you enjoy a great meal, but all proceeds will benefit Toys for Tots, helping to spread joy to children in need this holiday season. It’s a delicious way to make a positive impact!
Finally, let’s talk about spreading some Christmas cheer through the Angel Tree Program. This annual initiative allows you to provide gifts for children in the Midlands who may not otherwise receive anything this year. How wonderful is that?
This year, the program has shifted to an all-online format, making it easier than ever for you to participate. From the comfort of your home, you can choose a child to support and help bring a smile to their face this holiday season. Your generosity can light up a child’s world!
Columbia, there are so many ways to get involved this holiday season, from joyful celebrations to heartfelt giving. So, make sure to check out these events and opportunities, and let’s spread warmth and cheer across our community. Happy holidays, everyone! 🎉
