Hey there, Lexington! If you’ve been wandering around E. Main Street recently, you might have noticed some fresh vibes coming from the historic building at 101B. That’s right, the newest Circa Barbershop has officially opened its doors, bringing a stylish new spot for haircuts right to the heart of our lovely downtown.
Thanks to the hard work of Chapin Commercial Construction, this unique barbershop has taken over a 2,285-square-foot basement space that was skillfully renovated. The transformation respects the heritage of the building while giving it a modern twist. The barbershop showcases a beautiful minimalist aesthetic that’s sure to attract both loyal customers and newcomers alike.
The design features a striking black and white color palette, exposed brick walls, stunning wood accents, and vintage light fixtures that create an inviting atmosphere. And let’s not forget those four classic barber chairs waiting to give you the perfect haircut!
Speaking of perfect haircuts, let me introduce you to Halie Holland, the new owner of Circa Lexington. After five fulfilling years as a barber at Circa, Halie is stepping into the world of business ownership, and she couldn’t be more excited.
“Opening this shop is about so much more than just giving haircuts — it’s about creating an experience, a place where everyone feels like part of the family,” she said. Halie is determined to turn her shop into a space where clients feel a deep sense of connection, sharing in life’s major milestones, from weddings to welcoming new babies and everything in between.
For Halie and her team, a trip to the barbershop is about so much more than just a fresh cut. “Whether you’re celebrating or going through a tough time, our shop is a safe space, where the chair becomes more than just a place for a haircut — it’s ‘hairapy,’ connection and a little light in people’s lives,” she shared.
If you’re wondering about the buzz surrounding Circa, let me take you back a bit. Founded back in 2014 by D.R. Granger in Columbia, Circa started as a simple one-chair shop located in the dressing room of Circa Mercantile Co. Fast forward to today, and Circa has blossomed into a brand with eight locations, including seven across South Carolina and even one in Pittsburgh!
Halie’s journey reflects Circa’s mission to empower barbers to take the leap into entrepreneurship. And it’s working! The brand stands out by focusing on simplicity and consistency, delivering top-notch haircuts and precise beard trims like clockwork.
Partnering with Craig Reagin Clothiers, the flagship tenant of the building that’s been around since 2011, Circa is sure to bring even more energy and excitement to downtown Lexington. Jeremy Addy, the owner of Craig Reagin, emphasizes the importance of this community spirit, saying, “We’re thrilled to have Circa join us and bring even more energy, style, and sense of community to downtown Lexington.”
If you are ready to experience all that Circa has to offer, they’re open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every Monday through Friday. You can conveniently make appointments online at circabarbershop.com. So go ahead and book your spot—your hair (and maybe your heart!) will thank you.
All in all, the new Circa Barbershop is not just about haircuts; it’s about building connections within the community and making memories. With Halie at the helm, there’s no doubt that this space will become a beloved staple in Lexington. So, why not stop by, get a trim, and become a part of this fantastic community? We can’t wait to see you there!
