Lexington-Richland School District Five To Participate In Summer Food Service Program

In a progressive move, Lexington-Richland School District Five has pronounced its participation in the Summer Food Service Program. This initiative, kicking off this summer, aims to serve nutritious meals to local children during their school vacation in June and July.

District Officials Encourage Participation

The district invites all children up to 18 years old to be part of this noble endeavor. The program is slated to run from June 10 to July 26, ensuring no child in the district goes hungry over the summer break. The officials are looking forward to a wide array of participation in the program.

Program Schedule and Locations

The summer program will be operational Monday to Thursday, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., at various points across the district. These include Dutch Fork High School, Irmo High School, and Chapin High School.
The officials have also arranged a special meal pick-up site at Spring Hill High School’s bus loop, accessible on Mondays and Thursdays at the same timings. However, the schedule will be slightly tweaked during the week of July 4, with the pick-up day advanced to July 3.

Identification Required at Point of Pick Up

To avail of the service, students must either be present at the pick-up point, or their parents need to present their report card or birth certificate, as a part of the verification process.
