Columbia, our lovely little city, has been buzzing with excitement ever since the beautiful wedding of Courtney Lafaye Floyd and Colin James Comer took place on a picturesque Saturday afternoon, October 19, 2024. The happy couple tied the knot in a heartwarming ceremony held at the Chapel at The Farm at Ridgeway, surrounded by family, friends, and plenty of love.
As the clock struck 4 p.m., the atmosphere was filled with joy as the couple walked down the aisle. Officiated by the Honorable Joseph F. Anderson Jr., the ceremony was a beautiful blend of tradition and personal touches, perfectly reflecting the couple’s romance.
Courtney, radiant in her wedding gown, was escorted by her proud father, Mr. Richard E. B. Floyd. She is the daughter of Ms. Mary Lafaye Floyd and has strong roots in our community. Her grandparents, the late Mr. and Mrs. George Eugene Lafaye Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herron O’Berry Floyd Jr., were surely watching over her on this special day. Having made a name for herself as a dedicated employee at Whit-Ash Furniture Store, Courtney brings a delightful touch to Columbia’s charming retail scene.
On the other hand, Colin, a familiar face around town, is not just the son of Ms. Carolyn Machovina Comer and Mr. Daniel Kelly Comer, but the proud owner of Comer Landscaping. His hard work and dedication have helped shape the beautiful landscapes we enjoy throughout Columbia. He sure has a knack for transforming ordinary spaces into stunning gardens!
A wedding is always a team effort, and this ceremony was no different. The bride’s sister, Catherine Stewart Floyd, stood proudly by her side as the maid of honor. They had an adorable group of bridesmaids who helped make the day unforgettable—Megan Crosby, Chelsee Weathersby, Katherine Encinas, and Alexa Napoli. The groom’s brother, Alex Comer, was the best man, supporting Colin with all the brotherly love one could ask for. Not to forget the groomsmen, who included Mark Comer, Drew Kline, Evans Velasco, and Brett Player, all bringing their unique flair to the festivities.
Following the heartfelt “I dos,” guests were treated to a delightful reception at The Farm at Ridgeway, where laughter and joy filled the air. The couple and their guests danced the night away, savoring delicious food and celebrating the new chapter in their lives. It was a day full of love, laughter, and the promise of forever—a true fairy tale come to life right here in Columbia!
After their enchanting wedding and a short honeymoon, the couple is excited to embark on their new journey together in Cayce, S.C.. With their hearts full and surrounded by love, they are ready to tackle whatever comes next, hand in hand.
As we celebrate this magnificent union, we wish Courtney and Colin endless happiness and all the love in the world as they start this extraordinary adventure together. From all of us in our close-knit Columbia community, congratulations to the newlyweds!
