Columbia Prepares for Heartwarming Stuff-A-Bus 2024 Initiative to Support Families in Need

Columbia, S.C. Gears Up for Stuff-A-Bus 2024

As the holiday season approaches, Columbia is getting ready for a heartwarming event that aims to bring joy and happiness to families in need. The Salvation Army is teaming up with community partners once again for the Stuff-A-Bus 2024 initiative, helping to ensure that every child receives a special holiday gift this year.

What is Stuff-A-Bus?

Stuff-A-Bus is a cherished program that invites individuals, families, and businesses to donate gifts to fill the bus with new toys, clothing, shoes, and essential items for those less fortunate during the festive season. It’s a wonderful way for the community to come together and make a difference, wrapping children in the warmth and cheer of the holidays.

How to Sign Up for Gifts

If you are a family in need and want to sign up to receive gifts, it’s easy! The registration windows are open from October 1-30 or until all spots are filled. Here’s how you can get involved:

  • For families in the Midlands areas (Columbia, Lexington, Camden, Newberry, and Winnsboro), you can register online at www.SAAngeltree.org (this is the preferred method) or visit the Salvation Army Center for Worship and Service at 3024 Farrow Rd., open from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays.
  • In Orangeburg, the registration happens during the same period at 265 Stonewall Jackson Blvd., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
  • For those in Sumter, appointments for registration will take place from October 7-11 and October 14-18, between 10 a.m. – noon or 1-3 p.m. Call 803-775-9336 to set up your appointment.

When registering, families might be asked for some information to help organize the giving process. This way, the Salvation Army can ensure that everyone receives gifts that are just right for them.

Online Shopping Options

If you’re more of an online shopper, you’ll be pleased to hear that a virtual Stuff-A-Cart gift wish list will be available on Amazon from November 22-29. This means you can browse and select gifts from the comfort of your home, making it even easier to give back this holiday season!

Events and Donations

For those looking to donate gifts, mark your calendars! The Stuff-A-Bus events will be taking place from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at select Walmart locations on December 6 and December 13. Remember, they will gladly accept new toys, games, clothing, shoes, and essential daily items!

As a tip for those shopping for children, particularly consider items for the age group of 10-12 years, as these gifts are particularly needed this year. Whether it’s a fun game, cozy sweater, or a neat toy, every little bit helps to spread cheer.

Join the Spirit of Giving!

The holiday season is all about giving and kindness. Stuff-A-Bus 2024 is the perfect opportunity for everyone in Columbia to join hands and support families who might be facing tough times. Whether you want to receive gifts or make a donation, there’s a way for you to participate and make a difference.

So, let’s all get ready to embrace the spirit of the season together. With every toy and every donation, we’re not just filling a bus, but also filling hearts with hope and joy!
