Emergency responders investigate the tragic shooting scene in Columbia.
A tragic shootout has left one man dead and another injured in Columbia, South Carolina. Two suspects, Nigel Anderson and Sincere Glover, have been arrested facing serious charges including murder and attempted robbery following the incident that took place in the early hours of March 13. The authorities have yet to reveal the identity of the deceased victim, who was reportedly involved in an attempted robbery. This violent act has shocked the local community, prompting ongoing police investigations.
In a surprising turn of events in the sleepy city of Columbia, two young men have been arrested following a tragic shootout that left one man dead and another injured. The duo, comprising 23-year-old Nigel Anderson and 19-year-old Sincere Glover, is now facing a barrage of serious charges, including murder and attempted robbery.
The incident took place during the early hours of March 13, around 1:30 a.m., specifically in the 100 block of Westbridge Road in Columbia, South Carolina. It seems the night took a dark turn as deputies responded to frantic reports of multiple gunshots in the area. This horrendous scene unfolded near Hard Scrabble Road and Rabon Road, not far from Exit 19 on Interstate 77.
When law enforcement arrived, they encountered a chilling sight. One victim had sustained serious gunshot wounds to the upper body and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Later investigations confirm that this victim was, in fact, one of the very suspects involved in the attempted robbery gone wrong. As of now, the Richland County Coroner’s Office has chosen not to release the deceased man’s identity.
Eyewitnesses and preliminary reports indicate that prior to the gunfire, the victim had been accosted by three armed men while he was sitting in his car outside his home. Things escalated quickly as the assailants opened fire on the victim. However, the victim bravely returned fire, striking one of the attackers, who would later succumb to his injuries.
In a chaotic dash, Anderson and Glover managed to flee the scene before law enforcement arrived. The wounded victim attempted to drive himself to a local hospital but was discovered in his vehicle not far from the crime scene and was promptly transported to receive medical attention. The current condition of the surviving victim remains a mystery, with no updates available about his health. Thankfully, no other injuries were reported.
The law moved quickly in the aftermath of this brazen act. On April 3, Nigel Anderson was arrested and taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. Following closely, Sincere Glover faced authorities on April 7, winding up in the Richland County jail along with an additional drug charge.
Both Anderson and Glover are charged with a horrifying mix of crimes, including murder, attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and attempted robbery with a deadly weapon. As it stands, bond has not been set for either suspect, who remain behind bars awaiting further court proceedings.
All eyes are set on the upcoming court dates, with Glover scheduled to return to court on June 27. Interestingly, Anderson was out on bond for a separate domestic violence charge at the time of this incident. Back on December 28, 2024, he faced charges for second-degree domestic violence, and a bond of $10,000 was posted just two days later.
This tragic case has not only sent shockwaves through the Columbia community but serves as a grim reminder of how quickly situations can spiral out of control. The police continue their investigation, and residents are left grappling with the implications of this violent act on their community.
