The heart of Columbia, South Carolina, Boyd Plaza, is set to play host to the 2024 Restaurant Summer Games – an array of culinary contests inspired by the Olympic spirit. The event is scheduled for Sunday, August 4, from 5 to 8 p.m.
The Restaurant Summer Games will see seven of Columbia’s favorite restaurants compete in a series of Olympic inspired games. Each restaurant will also showcase a dish and cocktail of choice, with profits going towards a charity selected by the restaurant. The array of restaurants vying for glory include Hampton Street Vineyard (representing France), Hanabi Hibachi (Japan), Bierkeller (Germany), Ratio (Peru), Bodhi Thai (Thailand), The War Mouth (USA), and Villa Tronco (Italy).
The event is not just about competition and charity. Attendees can expect a glitzy and entertaining atmosphere complete with an open bar stocked with Bierkeller’s German brews. Games on hand will include ping pong by Carolina Pong, corn hole, and soccer. Keeping the energy high throughout the event, a DJ will be spinning hot earworms, and a photo booth will be in place to capture attendees’ favorite moments.
