Columbia to Honor 9/11 Victims with “Morning of Remembrance”
The City of Columbia, will host a “Morning of Remembrance” to honor the brave military members and first responders who lost their lives on 9/11. The event, now in its 14th year, will also pay tribute to their families. The ceremony is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. on September 11.
Tunnel to Towers 5K Run
In addition to the remembrance ceremony, Columbia will host a “Tunnel to Towers” 5K run on September 13, starting at 6 a.m. The event will take place at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
Lake Murray Clean-Up
Keep the Midlands Beautiful, a local organization dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability, is calling for volunteers to participate in a clean-up drive at Lake Murray. The initiative kicks off on Saturday, September 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. T-shirts, cleaning supplies, and prizes are to be provided to all volunteers who must register by September 6.
Second Annual Meeting Street Music Festival
Music enthusiasts are in for a treat as the City of West Columbia will host the second annual Meeting Street Music Festival. The event will showcase a sundry palette of genres by nationally and regionally renowned artists. The festival will be held at the Riverwalk Amphitheater, on Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday afternoon from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Admission to the festival is free.
Vintage Market Days Carolina Fall Event Ticket Giveaway
The upcoming Vintage Market Days Carolina fall event will be held from September 6 to September 8 at the state fairgrounds. The event presents a unique opportunity for families to experience a vintage market, featuring a diverse range of antique and retro products. A special ticket giveaway contest is currently underway, whereby ten fortunate entries will be awarded a “family fun pack” for free admission, each containing four tickets. Entries for the contest are open until September 5.
