Columbia Parents Get Help at Back-to-School Conference
On a sunny Saturday in Columbia, S.C., parents gathered at Trinity Baptist Church for the annual Back-to-School Parent Leadership Conference. We have someone doing a seminar on bridging the gap with autism,” said Juanita Dean Bates, a Program Director with the Columbia Urban League. Regina Williams, a retired educator and former Parent Navigator for the Columbia Urban League, has a wealth of experience. With over 30 years in education, she knows firsthand the struggles parents can face. She remarked, “Helping parents and showing them, don’t ever give up on our child. There’s always a way.” Her experience underscores the importance of perseverance and seeking help when needed.
