The Development Department of the City of Columbia has announced a workshop aimed at educating prospective first-time homebuyers. The workshop, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 17, is part of the city’s efforts to empower its residents with the necessary knowledge and guidance for purchasing their first homes.
The workshop intends to provide comprehensive information about the process of home buying. In addition to providing an overview of the steps involved in purchasing a home, the workshop will also address common concerns such as understanding credit, securing a mortgage loan, and the concepts of budgeting and saving.
The homebuyer workshop will be held between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Earlewood Park, located at 1113 Recreation Drive. It promises to be a beneficial session for first-time homebuyers, offering essential financial information and practical tips for potential homebuyers. However, interested participants should note that regular public health guidelines should still be followed amidst the ongoing pandemic situation.
This workshop is organized by the Development Department of the City of Columbia as part of their ongoing initiatives to support first-time homebuyers. These educational workshops aim to equip residents with the necessary knowledge, helping them make informed decisions while navigating the sometimes complex process of buying a home.
The City of Columbia will also be hosting other events in the coming months, including a session for National Crime Victim’s Week by Columbia Police. Furthermore, local literature enthusiasts will have the opportunity to attend a presentation by a bestselling author presenting “A Chickadee’s Guide to Gardening” at Riverbanks Botanical Garden on May 16th.
