Columbia Welcomes Ageless Vintage: A New Haven for Fashion Lovers
Columbia, South Carolina, is buzzing with excitement as the newly opened Ageless Vintage is quickly making a name for itself in the local fashion scene! Nestled at 1727 Harden St., this charming vintage store opened its doors on October 26, 2024, and already the vibe is unparalleled.
Once just a high school hobby for founder Anton Outing, Ageless Vintage has transformed into a cherished retail spot thanks to Outing’s passion for shoes and an inspired collaboration with business partners Brian Felder and Tristan Clarke. The trio hit it off over their mutual obsession with shoes and soon expanded their focus to vintage clothing and streetwear, crafting a unique space that celebrates the best of both worlds. Outing reflects on how it all started, saying, “I started with shoes when I was in high school… I began buying and selling them on eBay and trading with classmates.” Talk about a heartwarming origin story!
The Journey from Pop-Ups to a Permanent Location
Before securing a permanent home, these enterprising friends had the chance to test their concept through a series of successful pop-up markets. They became local favorites at venues like Steel Hands Brewing and Columbia Craft, where they showcased their carefully curated collection of vintage finds. It was during this time that they realized how much the Columbia community loved their offerings. Inspired by the glowing response and frequent inquiries about a brick-and-mortar location, Ageless Vintage made the leap. “A lot of people would ask, ‘Hey, do you have a store?’ so we just wanted to make it to where people could shop on a daily basis versus only being able to shop at those weekend pop-ups,” Outing explained.
Perfectly Positioned in Columbia’s Retail Paradise
Ageless Vintage is perfectly positioned just outside of the bustling Five Points area, an enviable location that has become increasingly popular among college students and locals alike. The store sits right across from Benedict College, making it an ideal shopping destination for the fashion-forward crowd that frequents this walkable retail district. In recent years, several vintage clothing stores have also emerged in Columbia, further enriching the local shopping experience. Notably, Pannerpete Vintage and Strange Times Vintage have joined the lineup, and in 2025, former Gamecock basketball star A’ja Wilson will open her own store in the area!
A Thriving Hub for Local Entrepreneurs
Ageless Vintage arrives on the scene as short-term retail opportunities skyrocket in popularity among local entrepreneurs. Programs like Made with Cola Love have been instrumental in supporting pop-up ventures, providing resources for aspiring business owners to get their feet wet in the retail space. “With all the buzz around town, it felt like the right moment to establish ourselves,” said Outing. And it seems that this thrilling spirit of entrepreneurship is contagious, echoing the energy of the vibrant Columbia community.
