Columbia Welcomes ‘Paw Patrol Live: Heroes Unite!’

Columbia, S.C. is buzzing with excitement as it prepares to host a beloved show that has captured the hearts of young fans all over the nation. The stage adaptation of the much-loved children’s series, Paw Patrol Live: Heroes Unite!, is set to take the Colonial Life Arena by storm this weekend, and one of the cast members is proud to say he calls Columbia home.

A Full-Circle Moment for K’nique Eichelberger

K’nique Eichelberger, a Columbia native, shared his enthusiasm about performing in his hometown. “I was born and raised in Columbia, and this will be my first time performing here professionally,” he said. Eichelberger portrays a character in the show that resonates with young audiences and embodies the values of teamwork and friendship.

This experience is particularly special for Eichelberger, as his journey into the world of arts began right here in Columbia. “The city is where my love for the arts started,” he shared, nostalgically reflecting on his childhood.

Teachers Make a Difference

One of the people who can speak to Eichelberger’s artistic talents is his former music teacher and current fine arts coordinator for Richland School District Two, Lisa Rayner. She fondly recalls the vibrant enthusiasm Eichelberger had for performing. “He had such a love for singing and acting and the arts in general,” Rayner said. “He has such a bright personality. I knew he would be successful in whatever he chose to do in life.”

Eichelberger attributes much of his success to his supportive teachers, especially Rayner. “She cast me in my first play,” he reminisced, attributing her belief in him as a crucial factor in helping him believe in himself.

Inspiring the Next Generation

As part of their visit, Eichelberger and other cast members took the time to surprise students at Pontiac Elementary School. They interacted with the kids ahead of the weekend’s performances, answering questions and sharing insights about making a career in the arts. “With each question answered, their dreams become within reach,” he added.

Dr. Andrea Peralta, the principal of Pontiac, expressed pride in the impact Eichelberger has made. “At Richland Two, we are purpose-driven to make kids future-ready, and he really touched on some of those things,” she noted, emphasizing the importance of role models for young students.

A Proud Family Supporter

The encouragement doesn’t stop with teachers. Eichelberger’s mother, Lashay Isaac, has been his biggest cheerleader. “It’s just amazing to see what you pour into your children when they are young come to fruition,” Isaac said, beaming with pride at her son’s accomplishments.
