Capital City Lake Murray Reveals First Celebrity Judge for Southeastern BBQ Showdown

Capital City/Lake Murray Country (CCLMC) is excited to announce that Mark Henry, former professional wrestler and medal-winning Olympic weightlifter, will serve as a celebrity judge for the inaugural Southeastern BBQ Showdown (SEBBQSD). The event is scheduled for June 14-15 at Segra Park, Lake Murray, SC.

About Mark Henry

Best known as “The World’s Strongest Man,” Mark Henry has had a distinguished career as a professional athlete and stand-up comedian. He emerged from Silsbee, Texas to win a gold medal in weightlifting at the 1996 Summer Olympics before embarking on a successful career in WWE. Beyond the ring, Henry has leveraged his celebrity status to promote fitness and health through the Strong Kids program, which encourages children to lead active and healthy lifestyles.

The Southeastern BBQ Showdown

Scheduled for 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm on June 14-15, 2024, the SEBBQSD is sure to become a highlight of the region’s culinary calendar. With the Band of Oz set to perform on Friday and the multi-Grammy® Award-Winning Band Alabama slated for Saturday, attendees can look forward to indulging their taste buds while enjoying quality live performances.
