New Parking Features & Rate Changes at CAE Starting May 1, 2024
COLUMBIA, SC – Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) will implement parking rate changes starting Wednesday, May 1, 2024 in an effort to facilitate new parking features and maintain its parking facilities.
Rate Adjustments
The cost for parking in the Surface Parking Lot will rise from $10 to $12 per day. Meanwhile, rates in the Garage Parking Lot will increase from $14 to $17 per day. These changes do not apply to pre-booked parking reservations made before May 1, 2024, which will be honored at the original transaction rate.

New Parking Platform, ParkMobile
In recent months, CAE launched ParkMobile, a contactless parking management system available across both the Surface and Garage Parking Lots. Customers can download this mobile application from the App Store and save it on their device. Inside the app, users upload credit card information which is automatically charged upon entry into a parking lot. After the trip, the app sends a QR code to the user’s device, confirming that payment has been cleared. This QR code is then used to exit the parking lot. The application also records all past transactions and receipts for future reference.
Projected Improvements
With the revenue from the price changes, certain upgrades to CAE’s parking facilities will continue, including:
- Ongoing operation of a pre-booking parking software and platform management system.
- A second ADA accessible elevator in the Garage Parking Lot.
- Continued general maintenance in the Garage Parking Lot like restriping, skylight resealing, and pressure washing.
- Regular landscaping of both parking lots and grounds.
Handicap parking will remain free for the first day with valid credentials, while subsequent days will be charged at the regular rate of the selected lot.
