Blythewood High School Achievements
BLYTHEWOOD – Top academic achievers from Blythewood, Eva Pendleton and Zachary Burnett, have gained recognition as the National Merit Finalists for 2024. In order to honor and encourage higher levels of achievement, the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) has recognized and inducted 11 students, including Giann Rodriguez Masini, Reagan Phillips, Madison Freeman, Nicholas Washington, Zachary Burnett, Jordan Simpson, Austin Tarnawsky, Kendall Fox, Alexander Burnett, Porter Boepple, and Maite Torres Guilhamelou.
Summer Food Service Program
LEXINGTON-RICHLAND – The Lexington-Richland School District Five has announced its participation in the Summer Food Service Program. Through this program, nutritious meals will be provided to all children aged 18 and under. The operation dates will run from June 10 to July 26, apart from an Independence Day closure on July 4. Three high schools – Dutch Fork, Irmo, and Chapin – will be operating from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. All meals will be served on site. For off-site pick-ups, residents can visit Spring Hill High School Bus Loop on Mondays and Thursdays.
Exceptional SCBDA Performances
RICHLAND – Prestigious accolades were earned by 125 Richland One students at the South Carolina Band Directors Association’s (SCBDA) Solo and Ensemble Festival. The students earned either Superior or Excellent ratings for their solo and ensemble performances, spotlighting the musical talents existing among Richland One students. Students who earned the highest possible Superior ratings either performed solos or participated in an ensemble.
Appointment at Lexington County School District One
LEXINGTON – Casey B. Calhoun has been said to become the executive director of high schools and postsecondary pathways in Lexington County School District One, a position with crucial oversight and operational responsibilities.
