BlacQuity, a nonprofit focused on empowering black entrepreneurs, has announced the return of the ROOTS & RIVERS FESTIVAL on September 14, 2024. This annual event celebrates the local businesses in Beaufort County and offers an array of activities for the community.
The festival is set to take place from 2 – 8 p.m. at the Oyster Factory Park. Attendees can expect live music, line dancing, mechanical bull riding, and a variety of artisanal vendors at the festival. There will be also food trucks to satiate the taste buds of guests and craft beer offerings to pair. New additions to the festival include a Kid Zone and VIP experiences, adding further attraction to the event.
The Roots & Rivers Festival intends to not only entertain the community members with the cultural finesse of the Lowcountry but also to provide a thriving marketplace for small businesses, artisans, and black entrepreneurs to showcase their unique products. The festival aims to support the local economy, foster community growth, and offer a platform for creative talents.
The 2024 edition of the Roots & Rivers Festival comes with a multitude of highlights. From featuring captivating live music performances by Deas Guyz to an engaging beer garden, and delightful food offerings – there is something for every attendee. Also, a variety of vendors will be present at the festival, providing an undisputed shopping experience for the guests with their unique products and services.
BlacQuity extends its gratitude to the festival’s patrons including the Burnt Church Distillery, Lowcountry Legacy Fund, and the Town of Bluffton – Heart of the Lowcountry. According to Gwen Chambers, the Executive Director of BlacQuity, the support of these sponsors has played a key role in the successful execution of the festival.
Early Bird general admission tickets for the festival are available at $15. Tickets purchased at the gate will be priced at $20. Apart from this, a limited quantity of VIP experiences is available for $125 providing an elevated experience to the attendees.
