Good morning, Columbia! It’s one of those lovely days that makes you appreciate the beauty of mid-fall in South Carolina. Just like Saturday morning, we’re seeing some delightful weather, thanks to high pressure systems hanging around. Get ready to soak up some sunshine and comfortable temps as we head into this beautiful Sunday.
As we step out today, expect afternoon highs to reach the mid to upper 70s. It’s perfect weather to be outside and enjoy the sunshine. If you’re planning to visit the last day of the South Carolina State Fair, you couldn’t have picked a better day! Picture yourself munching on a classic funnel cake or indulging in a juicy turkey leg while basking under clear blue skies. Sounds tempting, right?
Now, if you’re making plans to stay out late, or even enjoying some outdoor fun, don’t forget that the nights are going to be a bit chillier. After sunset, temperatures will dip down into the lower to mid-40s. So, be sure to grab a light jacket or sweater if you step out after dark. While it might feel brisk, it’s a small price to pay for the beauty that September and October bring to our lovely city.
As we peek into the coming week, it looks like warmer air will make its way through Columbia by the middle of the week. Thanks to a dry front, we’re in for some above-average temperatures, possibly ushering in some of the most enjoyable fall weather we’ve seen yet! Not to start any rumors, but stay tuned for a slight dip in temperatures as a cold front is expected to swing by later in the week.
And here’s the best part—rain shouldn’t be on our minds anytime soon. The dry air currently dominating the area means we can leave the umbrellas at home as we plan our outdoor activities.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Nadine is also causing a stir with localized areas in southern Mexico, northern Belize, and Guatemala facing possible flash flooding. Residents along those coasts should stay alert as conditions could lead to some challenging weather.
So here’s to a delightful day ahead in Columbia! Whether you’re hitting up the State Fair, visiting local parks, or just spending time with loved ones, make sure to enjoy the beautiful weather before that cooler air rolls in. As always, keep an eye on those localized weather updates, and don’t hesitate to share the joys of a sunny fall day!
