Beaufort County Woman Arrested Over Fraudulent SNAP Benefits
A 45-year-old woman in Beaufort County, South Carolina, has been detained for fraudulently obtaining over $12,000 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.
The Case
Marcia Marie Kidd, also known as Monica Kidd Coleman, has been arrested by The South Carolina Department of Social Services. She stands accused of fraudulently receiving $12,571 in SNAP benefits. In response to these allegations, Kidd has been formally charged with one count of Fraudulent Acquisition or Use of Food Stamps, an offense valued at more than $10,000.
The Arrest
Following her arrest, Kidd was booked at the Beaufort County Detention Center. The case continues to develop and will be prosecuted by the 14th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly known by its acronym SNAP, offers benefits to aid low-income individuals and families in purchasing the food they need for good health.
